Aerion is pioneering a new generation of efficient, economical, and environmentally responsible supersonic aircraft. The AS2® is an integration of future technology and craftsmanship ushering in a new era of sustainable supersonic flight that does not require afterburning engines. Traveling at a top speed of Mach 1.4 (1,000mph) this ultra-luxury supersonic business jet will use the quietest and most fuel-efficient supersonic engine in history without a boom reaching the ground and the ability to accept 100% engineered synthetic fuels.
The AS2® will operate in the Boomless Cruise™ autopilot mode between Mach 1.0-1.2. Boomless Cruise™ takes advantage of a well-known atmospheric phenomenology called Mach Cut Off where the sonic boom refracts off denser, warmer layers of air.
The overall design AS2® will integrate a sustainable luxury design with Aerion proprietary seating, WhisperQuiet™ cabin and Purity™ climate control, high-speed connectivity and immersive environment, integrated digital lifestyle with instinctive user interface, full spectrum OLED lighting, and a complete kitchen functionality with advanced appliance suite.
Aerion is founded on a core belief of bringing humanity closer. The company’s vision is a future where humanity can travel between any two points on our planet within three hours using new transportation networks – powered by clean energy solutions and enabling a world where distance is no longer a barrier. The starting point is sustainable supersonic flight, led by the world’s first supersonic business jet – the AS2®. The AS2® will be the first aircraft to be assembled at the company’s new global headquarters in Melbourne, Florida – Aerion Park, which itself will be powered by clean energy.
