Elliot James Interiors have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – Asia Pacific Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.

For this project, the clients are a very glamorous couple who appreciate the fine details, fabrics and finishes. It was Elliot James’ job to create a calm, warm environment that could show a level of finish and inject areas of fun, glamour and sophistication; a space that can be formal but at the same time incredibly inviting and welcoming.

Favourite features would have to be the Walk in Wardrobe for one, the room kept getting bigger and bigger through the design and Elliot James Interiors really considered every aspect from where their client would stand to inspect her outfit, the different displays for their unique collections and to the window overlooking Raffles hotel that is angled so one can see the whole hotel from where ever they stand. A second would be the Whiskey nook. Two grand doors open to reveal saddle leather seats, glass displays, ceiling speakers and a very cosy area for one to sit and enjoy their tipple. Originally a window ledge, the designer feels this was the best use of otherwise wasted space, anywhere in the home.

Elliot James Interiors commissioned a crystal waterfall lighting installation in collaboration with Swarovski that again has a personal story about how the clients met. Every space, every drawer, every storage configuration is created to make the clients’ lives that little more enjoyable and easier.

For this space it was important to look at the most important features in the space and in this case it was the view. When looking at the space, you can clearly see how the intimate sofa area faces the Singapore skyline. For the master bedroom, the designer wanted the clients to feel like a King and Queen in a truly impressive bed that is again intimate, cosy and romantic.

With incredible views over the Pedang and overlooking Raffles Hotel to the right, it couldn’t obstruct any of the views by placing the bed against one of the windows or walls so a “floating” bed was created. whist it may be open on all sides, it has been enclosed with the canopy and sheers to give that sense of intimacy and grandeur.
