Mona Hussein Design House have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – Global Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards.

The focus for Mona Hussein Design House when working on Alexandria Apartment was to create a comfortable and liveable home. To do this, the designers ensured that their decisions were complementing the needs and style of the clients. The success of the design stems from the balance of comfort and extravagance. Though the interior design was to be personal to the clients, the workings of the space when welcoming and entertaining guests was also a paramount consideration.

The client’s style and vision for their home was presented to Mona Hussein Design House during their first meeting. They had wanted an Art Deco inspired scheme, though also wished to balance dark and gold accents with natural materials. Elegance and comfort were to remain at the core of the project. Designed with contrasting marbled black and white tiles with gold inlay lines, calming colours for the walls, rich timber flooring, and touches of gold and bronze in the accents, Mona Hussein Design House incorporated all the client’s requests to create a luxurious yet liveable statement home.

The residence itself finds an equilibrium between entertainment spaces and those more private. An elegant entrance foyer welcomes guests. The formal reception room offers a warm and welcoming space, with fireplace and dramatic, contrasting tones. Luxury permeates the design with the rich wooden features and gold palate. This continues through to the earth-toned and opulent closed dining room which can accommodate 10 diners. The kitchen has been designed with practicality at the forefront, having included a preparation table. The family area is spacious yet cosy with lighter materials and personal touches for the client, embraced in warm lighting and cohesive gold accents. The master bedroom keeps to the underlying theme of Art Deco though softened for a calmer space, offering a seating area, dressing room and ensuite.
