Here at design et al, our staff  continue to work remotely, maintaining regular business hours and promoting the best design projects throughout the world. All awards PR, editorial, digital news edits and magazines will be published as usual. Every part of the business will continue to work in the same way.

As publishers for the global design industry, we feel it is vitally important that we continue to share your work, promote your new collections, endorse new ideas and innovations and show the design world just how strong we are as a community. We will continue to support your work, and provide a platform to celebrate the best of Canadian and global design.

Our Canada & Global Categories:

If you have projects that you think could compete in The International Design & Architecture Awards, these are some examples of the Canadian and Global categories that we have with a brief explanation of what we expect for each category:

Beach House: this category refers to all areas of a waterside residential property, located around the world. We would expect to see the beach views or location shots.

Home Cinema: this category refers specifically to the design of a cinema within residences around the world.

Residential Property Value £2.5-5 Million: this category refers to the market value once the project has been completed. Submissions must have a market value ranging from £2.5 million to a maximum of £5 million (GBP), and can be located all around the world.

ELEMENTS ESTATE BY T. JONES GROUP & SUBLIME INTERIOR DESIGN

Elements Estate is an opulent home in Vancouver’s premier Shaughnessy neighbourhood. Designed by T. Jones Group & Sublime Interior Design, the estate channels the elements: fire, earth, water, metal and wood, which inspires the elegance and clean lines of the home. The design concept fuses time periods and creates harmony and balance for an awe-inspiring retreat within the city.

  My Personal Design Style: My personal design style is soulful and connected to nature. I use a lot of light woods, natural fabrics, chunky textures and plants to give the spaces I design a light, airy, earthy welcoming feeling.

What Direction Is Design Moving Towards: I feel that design is becoming less about slick austere spaces and more about livability and connectedness. In a world that can be at times alienating, we need the spaces we inhabit to connect us and feed our souls.
