The Best of European Design

Here at design et al, our staff will be working remotely for the time-being, maintaining regular business hours and promoting the best design projects throughout the world. All awards PR, editorial, digital news edits and magazines will be published as usual. Every part of the business will continue to work in the same way. Over the coming days and weeks will be adding to our global communication with additional new edits and PR  on a global level to help keep this industry moving.

As publishers for the design industry globally, we feel it is vitally important that we continue to share your work, promote your new collections, endorse new ideas and innovations and show the design world just how strong we are as a community. We may not be able to travel to conferences, overseas meetings and events for a while, but we at design et al, will do all we can to expose your work to clients globally during this time.

Our European & Global Categories:

If you’ve got projects that you think could compete in The International Design & Architecture Awards, these are some examples of the European and Global categories that we have with a brief explanation of what we expect for each category:

Living Space – Europe: this category refers to the communal areas of a property, such as Living Areas, Dining and Kitchen areas specifically in Europe.

Interior Design Scheme – Europe: this category refers to all areas of a property, such as Living Areas, Dining and Kitchen areas, Bedrooms, Bathrooms etc specifically in Europe.

City Space (Apartment/Penthouse) – Global: this category refers to city based apartments and penthouses, located all around the World.

Luxury Residence – Europe: this category refers to all areas of a property, with a focus on the most luxurious projects. We would expect, for example, to see Home Cinemas, Swimming Pools etc as well as the usual areas of the property like Living Areas, Dining and Kitchen areas, Bedrooms, Bathrooms etc specifically in Europe.

MADISON APARTMENTS WARSAW

DESIGNER IN PROFILE: JENYA LYKASOVA, FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF LLC J.LYKASOVA

How would you describe your personal design style? I’d say it’s figurative minimalism, as I tend to design comfortable, soft interiors. Of course, all the interiors we deliver are different – depending on the customer, it might be more of a Scandinavian style, loft, or even classic. However, picturesque minimalist details and patterns are still present in most of them.

Your most treasured possession? It might sound unusual, but it’s my sight. Seeing the world with my own eyes is what gives me an ability to get inspired and create – and that’s what I treasure the most.
