Atelier Interior Design have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – UK Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards.

Less than an hour from London, in the green and affluent commuter belt of Buckinghamshire sits one of Atelier Interior Design’s latest interior design projects. The world-famous Chiltern Hills begin to break softly out of the surrounding Home Counties landscape and the area is home to several small villages and Hamlets with elegant period properties at their hearts.

Atelier Interior Design was tasked with the job of transforming one of these properties for their client, having just completed the Hambledon Wing, an exclusive new multi-million-pound addition to an existing Period Home which comprises a luxurious reading room, day room, library and media room, private dining room and bedrooms all set within 10 acres of stunning landscaped grounds.

The brief from the client was to create a luxurious relaxing yet homely interior which was in keeping with the period nature of the existing house. Each space was designed with meticulous attention to detail with elegant clean lines, luxurious finishes, and elegant proportions. Rich high gloss woods, marble and brushed brass accents sit shoulder to shoulder with the most exquisite fabrics to create an elegant and luxurious scheme at its finest. Atelier have provided a complete design package from bespoke cabinetry and custom-made furniture to the ceiling detailing, lighting layouts and services integration. Almost all the furniture was designed by Atelier Interior Design and hand made to specific requirements for this project.

Atelier also commissioned bespoke Artwork for the project and worked closely with Irish Ceramic Artist Áine McKenna to create dozens of porcelain butterflies all embellished with 24k gold detailing. This artwork takes pride of place within the main staircase of the Hambledon Wing, gracefully surrounding a backlit crystal mirror

Atelier Interior Design believe the design works so well because they were involved from the very early stages of its construction and developed a great relationship with the clients, builders, and architects. In this instance, they were able to design a space is that is well considered, functional and beautiful. The overall design scheme works perfectly between the new and old parts of the property creating a seamless flow throughout.
