At the turn of the Twentieth Century, when the hotel opened to much celebration, San Francisco was hailed as “The Paris of the West” for its architectural scale and beauty. In keeping with that reputation, the guestroom interior design pairs elegant, classically styled furniture and window treatments with a sophisticated modern colour palette of French grey and Parisian blue sparked with golden embellishments. Remaining true to the beauty and architecture of the 1904-era building the new interior design brings back to life the elegant past of this iconic hotel by honouring San Francisco’s history, as well as the history of the Westin St Francis.

This tasteful, sophisticated and sensitive renovation will ensure that the Westin St. Francis’ storied heritage will continue in its second century, enhanced to attract Twenty-first Century guests. ForrestPerkins successfully balance heritage and style. The new is elegant and sophisticated, however, not overpowering to the stunning historic architecture. Striking a perfect balance and harmonizing the spaces. The 4 large Luxury Suites, each with a different configuration and historic detailing, encompass a total of 11 guest rooms. The modern and fresh nature of the furnishings and finishes in the suites result in a pleasing juxtaposition with the historic architecture.

The design works so well because the new interior design embraces the original elegant nature of the architecture. ForrestPerkins have created the timeless yet modern style and the juxtaposition between the old and the new through the creative use of colour, texture and artwork. Designing white carved wood panelling adds texture and depth to the walls, while still creating a minimalistic look. Plasterwork was required to recreate or repair the beautiful original crown molding and high ceilings. Guest bathrooms are outfitted with Carrara marble, white quartz countertop vanities, period-style polished chrome fittings and large frameless lighted mirrors. bespoke manufacturers were used add custom-designed furniture to the suites which create a new style while still enhanced the landscape.
