Project Name: Project Haven

Location: Knightsbridge, London, UK

Date Completed: March 2019

Interior Designer: No. 12 Studio

A sanctuary in the heart of Knightsbridge, No.12 Studio were commissioned to deliver the interior architecture, interior design and creative direction for a 3-bedroom property near the Brompton Oratory. The Grade II listed traditional architectural detailing was respectfully reinstated to the reflect the calibre of the property. Complemented by FF&E to create beautifully light and serene haven from the hustle and bustle of city life.

No.12 Studio undertook the restoration and reintroduction of this early 1900’s lateral apartment from a dated 1970’s space to what you see today. Empathetically considered No.12 Studio reconsidered the space planning all the way to the windows and decorative plaster profiles and details. Delivering a respectfully traditional interior combined with a space suitable for modern living.

The interior furnishing combined many tonal element and textures, right the way from the fresh white linen upholstery, all the way down to the cotton braided borders to the curtains in this uncompromised full turn-key delivery. The common factor is simplicity and serenity, soft materials, desaturated tones, luxurious textures, and good craftsmanship.

Working within a property that already inherently has a plethora of history within it is always a pleasure. Reinstating listed details is an enjoyable process. However, fully understanding our client’s needs informed the modern living arrangements. The combination of traditional and contemporary is shown throughout the project.

Context is inherent in every project undertaken, the locality of the property in the centre of Knightsbridge informed the decision to create a haven from the streets below and influenced the direction of the calm and serene interior architecture and design.
