Thirteen Interior Design were instructed to complete the interiors for this luxury London development, their client wanted this 2-bedroom apartment to be his family’s “London Home” and his requirements were for colour and vibrancy mixed with comfort and style.

The clients of Chiltern Place wanted this pied-à-terre apartment to offer a contrast from the family home in Romania and Thirteen Interior Design knew the interiors had to reflect the prestigious development of Chiltern Place. The designers therefore had to perfectly balance what the clients wanted and how this would fit into the wider environment. The family, husband and wife with a son in his late teens, were very particular, they each had their own ideas which the designers had to fuse together to achieve client satisfaction.

Thirteen Interior Design included their love for colour which would easily create the contrast from their home in Romania which was neutral and full of designer pieces. In the open plan living space, the designers started with the sofa fabric as they knew this was going to be the biggest item visually so needed to be the centre of the design. The master bedroom is tranquil but still has strong colour and the son’s bedroom is timeless enough that he isn’t going to “grow out of it”. To ensure this really was a home from home Thirteen asked the client to email family photos which were then printed and put into frames, of course they were colour coordinated to each room!

One of Thirteen Interior Design’s favourite aspects of this project is the Master bedroom, the simplicity and tone of colours work in harmony with the silk wallpaper. The designer’s creativity is always led by the client and architecture of the building, it’s important that Thirteen were able fuse the two together. The overall design works so well because it fits the clients brief perfectly.
