This 8,800 square-foot, modern yet classic Mediterranean estate was designed for a hillside lot in the Sonoran Desert. The look and feel of the home was created by pairing the home’ s traditional massing With modern elements. The four bedroom, five-bathroom residence—designed in collaboration between PHX Architecture and Rebecca Salcito Interiors—showcases stunning desert views and distinctive city lights below. The major rooms all open out to covered patios, seamlessly extending the indoors to the outdoors. From the moment one steps into the luxurious entry foyer they are welcomed by a traditional groin vault ceiling, gorgeous water feature, an infinity edge pool and incredible views. Each room is strategically placed to capture picturesque Arizona views and also to take advantage of the hillside it was carefully placed on. His and her offices with custom panelling are thoughtfully placed on top of each other so they have the same views of the desert preserve. The master bathroom with floor to ceiling glass is oriented to the desert preserve so that the desert feels like a part of the space.

The kitchen in this classic Mediterranean residence has just enough flashy and modern finishes to make it current. The symmetrical design with arched openings was designed to give a nod to its formal Mediterranean exteriors, while also allowing it to take on a unique modern twist. PHX Architecture combined elegant timeless lighting fixtures with colourful, beautiful patterned tiles to give the kitchen a timeless elegant feel. The pocketing pass-through windows open to a bar and dining patio allowing the homeowners to enjoy the outdoors and the kitchen at the same time.

The master bathroom embodies luxury, from the gorgeous light fixtures to the patterned tiles that leads your eyes out through the floor to ceiling glass bringing the desert right into the room. The unique tray ceiling livens up the space and adds a touch of traditional to this otherwise modern space. Everyone on the construction/design team worked perfectly in tandem to allow for every single specialised detail to come together on this challenging site, executing the vision of the architect and designer flawlessly.
