Margot Tsim have been shortlisted for Living Space – London Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.
The Hong Kong-born designer, Margot Tsim, recently completed a comprehensive renovation of a Georgian townhouse in Little Venice, with views of the Regent’s Canal. In a collaborative effort with its imaginative owners, who wanted to create a gallery feel in the living areas, Margot conceived schemes defined by soft curves, bold silhouettes and a monochrome palette punctuated with pops of colour.
DESIGNER IN PROFILE: MATTHEW CARLISLE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF CARLISLE DESIGN STUDIO
In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Sustainability drives so much of what materials are available at the moment, this with a global outlook that is thankfully more financially cautious in setting a far more functional approach to interior design.
If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Go with your gut and don’t over think it, if it feels right do it.
CLARE GASKIN INTERIORS PREVIOUS WINNER OF THE INTERIOR DESIGN SCHEME – EUROPE AWARD
