HIBOU BLANC BY COLLECTIVE DESIGN

Collective Design shortlisted for Restaurant – Europe Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards.

The client wanted a stylish and sophisticated interior to showcase his vision of a luxury bar and restaurant that offers a high-end complex food and drinks offering. The interior was to have a beautiful ambiance created with mood lighting, dark wood panels, lavish marble and saddle leather. Brass and lead glass was requested to add sparkle and highlights. Traditional detailing with fluted platers, authentic corbels, raised and fielded panels and oversized cornice work and skirting’s were to create a timeless decor.

This venue was to attract fine diners and connoisseurs who enjoy the finer things. Part of the brief was to include an island bar which gives a social aspect to the venue. A private dining room for special occasions. An open kitchen to create theatre and plenty of seating options offering flexibility to the space. The interior was also to be adorned with fine art and cabinets of wine, whiskey and champaign. The clients final wish was to ensure this was an interior which would be unforgettable and offer the customers and experience.

TREEHOUSE LONDON BY KEANE BRANDS

Keane Brands Winner of Hotel under 200 Rooms – Global Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2020.

The project scope was the full conversion of the existing Saint Georges Hotel on Langham Place in London into the world’s first Treehouse Hotel. Working with the brand owners, SH Hotels & Resorts and the hotel owner/developer Cairn Group, we were tasked to design and create a place that feels more home than hotel, an oasis that refreshes, inspires and delights, in Marylebone – one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

The development comprises a ground floor entrance and lift lobby with coffee bar, 95 guest rooms, including 15 suites, over floors nine to fourteen, a 15th floor bar and restaurant and a roof extension housing a new 16th floor VIP rooftop bar with wrap around terrace and stunning views of London.

DESIGNER PROFILE: MICHAELA REYSENN MANAGING DIRECTOR OF KAI INTERIORS

Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
Following a BA [Hons] in multimedia textiles, I carried out an Interior design diploma to focus more into my area of interest. Working in hospitality at a high level throughout my studies meant I had a good understanding of the practicalities of running a Food and Beverage operation and this was invaluable when designing interior spaces.

How would you describe your personal interior design style?
At KAI Interiors we don’t like to pigeon hole ourselves into one specific design style, we work with the client brief and like to explore something different on each project. I have a long-standing love of all things vintage but I also love more minimal interiors too. My home is a mixture of William Morris influences and mid-century furniture with rich colour palettes and textures.
