IDEA International Make The 2021 Shortlist
Mountain Chalet is a ski chalet by Idea International, located in the beautiful Smilovci, Bulgaria. For this very exciting project studio IDEA International envisioned an impeccably detailed interior scheme. The layout has been carefully curated in order to incorporate all client requirements including an outdoor dining area, bespoke fireplaces and a unique SPA hidden in the underground floor of the mountain chalet.

Initially, the apartment had an absolutely illogical circular layout and non-standard geometry, such a layout does not allow maximum use of the space, making the process of finding and installing furniture rather difficult. It is problematic to fit it with standard furniture, since in a room of irregular shape any sizeable object with right angles will significantly reduce the space, and not only visually.

K-Studio: Villa Mandra, Sitting on the ridge of the hill of Aleomandra in Mykonos yet almost entirely hidden from view, Villa Mandra looks straight out to sea and the sunset over the neighbouring island of Delos. A 6-bedroom holiday house built for a young, dynamic couple to enjoy with their family and friends, it celebrates its spectacular view from a grounded viewpoint blended into a sensitively landscaped, stone-walled garden that screens it from the road behind.
