Spagnulo&Partners Make The Shortlist

This new opening is the second step in a complete overhaul process (which started in 2017 with the complete makeover of Giannino in Milan) of the renowned restaurant which truly represents a piece of history in the Lombard city, having recently celebrated 120 years in business. An important 360° renovation project was carried out with attention to the finest detail by Spagnulo&Partners, which involved a radical revision of the space, giving back to the restaurant, just as in the Milan-based project, the importance of its roots and tradition.

Desginer In Profile: Ing. Arch. Ivo Nahalka, of Archina Design

Tell us a little about your background in design
As I liked to paint as child, I studied during my primary and high school at the special art school. My dream had always been to study either art or architecture, and I went on to study architecture at the Czech technical university. During this time, I received a lot of student awards, one for my project of the hotel Forum Prague. At the start of my professional carrier I started on this project, which was completed in 1987. In 1989 I established my company Ivo Nahálka – ARCHINA. Over more than 35 years, I have designed close to 100 projects, from which 70 have been completed.
