DESIGN INTERVENTION MAKE THE SHORTLIST

Design Intervention have been shortlisted for City Space Apartment Penthouse Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards.

This is a 5200sqft penthouse apartment located in the most prime location in central Bangkok with glorious 270 degree views across the city. The client is a bachelor in his 30’s and the original layout had been designed for family living. Design Intervention have reconfigured the generous floor plan to better suit the needs of his bachelor lifestyle, allocating a far larger proportion of the apartment for his personal space. The design brief was the desire to have an apartment with a wow-factor, worthy of a Hollywood set with a streamlined masculine feel.

Anterior Design Limited have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – Asia Pacific Award in The International Design and Architecture. 

A modern classic design brings the sense of balance, stability and harmony to the residence. The essence of this combination is not about colour, but also rely on the warm lighting, clean-lined furniture and upholstery to create the atmosphere. Wooden floors in warm tones are generally used in the house, while the colours of rug, furniture and artwork energise the entire room in different ways.

DESIGNER PROFILE: IOANNA LENNOX CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF  IOANNA LENNOX INTERIORS

Tell us a little about your background in design:
I’ve been fascinated by design, architecture and interiors since childhood. As a teenager, I’d spend all my pocket money buying design magazines and cutting them into elaborate collages of make-believe houses. In 2014, after studying interior design, I left a successful corporate career in finance to start my own interior design practice.

How would you describe your personal design style?
My personal design style is modern luxury adapted for today’s living. I seek to create beautifully layered, emotionally rich homes, where every detail is considered and customisation plays a key role. For me, interiors are all about conjuring up an emotional response and the feeling that you don’t want to leave.

Where does your inspiration come from?
Anywhere and everywhere: I could be scrolling through Instagram in the morning, go to a trade show in the afternoon or flick through a design book in the evening, and something will catch my eye. I’ll instantly associate it with a project we’re working on and in a matter of moments I’ve changed it, tweaked it or adapted that seed of inspiration to suit the project – all in my head.
